Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth is perhaps best known for her unforgettable performances in Broadway shows like Wicked and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, but that’s all about to change. The 47-year-old star, who told Iheartbeautyco she’s been illustrating and designing baubles for years, is officially set to make her first foray into the world of accessories this Friday with her own sterling silver and gold plated collection of jewelry for HSN.
“I have been designing specialty pieces for different people in my life for two decades. I’ve always just kept it to making something special for someone, but I never dreamed that I could have an outlet like HSN to show my work,” she said. So what can we expected from her debut dream-come-true selection? Chenoweth’s affordable line (it ranges from $29.95 to $299.95) includes a mix of 31 dainty rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings that reflect the talent’s bubbly personality with star- and moon-shaped graphics, in addition to pieces that feature pointing arrows and musical notes.
For inspiration, she turned to both the past and future. “We do things that artists do that mean a lot to us, so each piece has a story to it and why I designed it. I have a couple of throwback pieces from inspirations from my mom wearing a necklace in the ‘70s. And then I have a lot of arrow themes because I always think, ‘What direction are you heading in, Kristin? Where do you want to go?'” she said. “What I love about the pieces so much is that they’re statement but they’re classic, chic.”

Chenoweth called her collection of design drawings her “baby,” and also compared piecing together the collection to another one of her passions: “It’s like when you write a song. Some songs you like better than others. I’m really an artist. I’m excited. I think I’m exactly where I should be with it.” Don’t think she can’t choose a favorite item from the batch, though. “It’s an arrow necklace [below] that comes together about your collar bone, the second part of the arrow comes down, so you can wear this with a sweater, you can wear it with jeans, you can wear it with a gown,” she adds. “I’ve been layering it with some of the other pieces, but even alone I think it’s a standout piece—it’s a reminder when I look down and I see it not just of where I’m headed, but where I’m going.”
Her ultimate goal with the venture? “I want people in 20 years to be looking back at a picture with some of my pieces in them and say, ‘Oh, it still works!”
